The Best HEVC (X265) Converters

HEVC stands for High Efficiency Video Coding is the successor to the well known H.264/MPEG-4 AVC.
HEVC was designed to substantially improve encoding efficiency to reduce bitrate requirements to upto half as compared to H.264 with comparable image quality but would require much better hardware.

So lately, I had downloaded one of those compressed HEVC videos, the hardware requirements said that I would just require a dual core processor or more, so that I thought my PC would be able to run this video without breaking a sweat, but I was wrong. Even my high performance core-i5 couldn't run the video smoothly and the entire video was sluggish, the video would run for a few second and then stopped or sometimes the colors would look washed out. So I thought that I might be able to play the video smoothly if convert it to some standard H.264 format and I was dead right.

The video was very highly compressed, a full-HD 1080p movie compressed to a mere 400 mbs. So, I thought that downloading such videos and converting them to standard H.264 videos would be much easier for you and would also save you a few bucks worth of data charges.

So today I bring to you a few of the quietest and the quickest HEVC to H.264 converters.

Pavtube Video Converter

You can have this HEVC converter as a freeware and convert as many videos as you want, the only problem being that it leaves a small watermark on the converted videos, wasn't a very big problem for me, but it might turn out that you wouldn't want the watermark in the centre of your videos, in that case you might need to go in for a paid version or you might even get it for free. You can also opt to the option of buying the software if you would like to support the developers.

Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate

Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate was the second HEVC converter which I tried and the least to say is that the results were amazing, I was able to convert a HEVC full HD video to custom MP4 format in just about 10 minutes or so. But this again has some limitations in the trial version so to get full benefit of the software either you can buy this piece of software or you might get it for free. I would rather advice you to buy the software to support the developers if you liked working with the converter.

These two converters should be enough for you to convert any HEVC/H.265 video to a native H.264 format for now. These two softwares are available on both Windows and MAC. But in future if better softwares are released I'll keep updating this page for you.

Until then...................... Thanks for reading.
